Dino Tantawi, Founder and CEO
For more than a quarter century Dino Tantawi has gained a stellar reputation in the wine industry in which he has demonstrated the passion, vision and dedication necessary to be among the very best connoisseurs of Italian wines in America today. As founder and CEO of Vignaioli Selections, a company founded in 1999, Mr. Tantawi is often referred as the “Ambassador” for Italian wine in the United States, having been featured in a number of publications, including the New York Times and Black Ink.
Prior to starting Vignaioli, Mr. Tantawi served as the Italian wine director for Winebow where he managed a portfolio of 1,000 wines. He also helped to grow Vias Imports as a co-owner and the New York director before divesting his ownership share in 1997. Mr. Tantawi also spent four years as a wine consultant with Casanova Opici Wine Group.
As a visiting professor at the New York City College of Technology for the past ten years, Mr. Tantawi has shared his knowledge of wine and the industry standards for which he was presented with the “Outstanding Industry Professional Award” in 2011. Mr. Tantawi has been recognized by the Stanford Who’s Who as the “Sensational President of Fine Wine Distribution.”
